Investment Newsletter Ratings and Rankings (2026): What We Compare Instead
In short: We don't publish star ratings or performance rankings. We compare 582 stock newsletters by verified price, schedule and focus, copied from official pages.
Direct answer: We do not rate newsletters with stars or rank them by returns, because we cannot verify their track records. Instead we compare 582 stock and options newsletters by facts we checked on each official page: price, schedule, free or paid, and focus. 140 of them are free. Not investment advice.
What we compare
- Price: the price on the official page, with the date we checked. See the price index.
- Free or paid: see free newsletters and free vs paid.
- Schedule: daily, weekly or monthly.
- Focus: the strategy the official page states, such as options, dividends or value.
Our lists by size
Each list only includes newsletters whose official page supports it. Counts below exclude our own newsletter.
Cheapest and priciest paid newsletters we list
Of 386 paid newsletters with a clear US-dollar price, the lowest works out to $20 a year (MarketDiem (Investor's Business Daily)) and the highest to $13,999 a year (Fool One (Motley Fool)). Price is not a measure of quality.
Our 2026 awards
Our 2026 awards are editorial picks from each list, based on the published criteria on how we review. They are not based on performance.
Questions
Does Best Investment Newsletters rate or rank newsletters?
No. We do not give star ratings or performance rankings, because we cannot check a newsletter's track record ourselves. We compare facts we can check on each official page: price, schedule, free or paid, and focus.
How are your lists ordered?
Our own newsletter, Money Machine Newsletter, is listed first (we disclose that we own it). After that, listings follow a fixed editorial order. It is not a score. Sponsored spots are labeled Sponsored and shown separately.
How should I judge a newsletter ranking I find elsewhere?
Ask where the numbers come from. A useful ranking says how returns were measured, over what period, and whether it was checked by someone other than the publisher. If it does not say, treat it as marketing.
Not investment advice. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
